Salutations to the Martyrs of 26/11

Blood on the platforms of CST, total mayhem in the Taj, Bullets being fired haywire in Cama hospital…this was the situation last year on this specific day…! On this dreadful day the last year, Mumbai witnessed the most horrendous terrorist attack!!! Mumbai’s landmarks were attacked by 11 Pakistani terrorists (okay…so finally after all the drama Pakistan accepted the fact that the terrorists were Pakistani nationals…phew!)

Many of our brave police officers like Hemant Karkare, Vijay Salaskar, and NSG Commandos lost their lives in this horrid battle. They fought for us so that we could be safe. According to me, the lone surviving terrorist Ajmal Kasab must be hanged! I don’t understand why the hell on earth our government isn’t doing so….!??!? He has been proved guilty…so damn it just hang him! The fact that irritates me the most is that the statements which Kasab is making…First he said hang me (which our country must have done way back!), then he said he doesn’t have faith in the Indian Judiciary…and now…He wants the matter to be taken up by the International Court of Justice…you fool do know the spelling of it!!!!

Many people lost their lives in those 60 hours of pandemonium! Some were brutally injured. I would like to pay homage from the bottom of my heart to all those who lost their lives on 26/11/2008…I hope that their souls rest in peace. I hope that the Almighty gives their families a new hope to continue to live their lives…

I just hope that the world becomes terror free. I hope that we are well prepared for the next time. There’s no use of blaming anyone. Instead we should pay more attention towards rectifying our mistakes and getting prepared for next time .And here we are, after one whole year after the ruckus…living a normal life or in other words living it with the Spirit of Mumbai…Mumbai is well known for it’s this spirit…which no one knows what it is all about. But we still continue to praise it. I salute this enigmatic spirit of Mumbai and the people. I LOVE MUMBAI coz it is MY JAAN….!!!!

Jai Hind!

My College Fest...

Heya people…all this while I was cribbing that my college doesn’t have a fest…But now it does have…!!! But it’s a little bit bizarre that it doesn’t have a name…lolz! So my college fest is not a big one like Malhar(Xavier’s), Umang (NM) or Mood Indigo(IIT- Mumbai)…it’s a small scale fest limited to the students of the college…sob sob…: ( This was the first time my college (St. Mary’s) had organized the fest…so obviously there were some flaws. But that was okay…at least I had a fest…phew!!! So people…let me tell ya’ll about my so-called college fest…lolz…

DAY 1 - 12th November 2009

So my college fest had finally kicked started (okay I’m felling really weird to have a nameless college fest…so according to me it should be named KARMA...) On the first floor, the rangoli competition was going on in full swing (I know it’s a really stupid event to be included in the fest…lmao) Though many people didn’t participate but still the participants were quite wholehearted and giving their best shot. The girls were trying to create to their magnum opus. They really made vibrant and colourful rangolis I must admit…!

The collage making competition was being conducted in the classroom on the first floor. The topic was “Go Green”. The participants had to create their art work around the topic. All were thinking hard to come up with some innovative and appealing idea so that their art work would be the best amongst all…At the same time, slogan writing competition was being conducted in the adjacent classroom. The participants were lost in thoughts, thinking about an attractive slogan which would be unique and appealing…

The singing competition was held in the stilt area. The event began with a short speech of my college principal. My class teacher…Mrs. Shilpi Bhattacharya…was the announcer for the event. The competition began with a boy who sang an old hindi song. BORING!!! He was making some stupid howling sounds in between…I guess that was an attempt to be cool…which wasn’t at all! The audience burst out in laughter after listening to it. The Gong Gong aka Shalem was next. He sang “She will be loved” by MARRON 5. He was even strumming a guitar.I have to say this…he was best amongst all…gosh!!! And I think that song was dedicated to Bhavana…AOWAHA bhavs!!! And how can I forget Aurpita…she sang a classical song which was boring. And yeah don’t forget the facial expressions! Roflmao!

DAY 2 - 13th November 2009

I was quite nervous as it was my event that day. I had participated in spelling bee competition and Just A Minute aka JAM. Actually I was nervous only about JAM. I got a nervous breakdown and finally I quitted! I hate myself for it. Damn!

The extempore was okay. The participants made a good effort. But the topics in JAM were really stupid! There was a RJ competition too.

Next was my event. I took part in spelling bee. I brushed up my spellings on the last moment. All set to answer. I made it through the first round. Then in the second round, the participants were bombarded with words which I never heard! And to my surprise…I won! I stood first! Yay…

DAY 3 -14th November 2009

It was the last day of the fest. The final day began with group dance. There were various dance forms. Right from contemporary, hip hop, freestyle to typical bollywood. Some groups made a poor attempt. Their dance turned out to be a disaster. Some danced on famous tracks like Whine Up, Right Round, Sugar, Bebot, Boom Boom Pow etc. And yeah…the gong gong and his gang struck again! That was hilarious! Some of the groups put up quite an entertaining performance. The college fest ended with prize distribution. Yay…even I got a prize!

So people…that was my college fest. I know it was a little bit boring but still I enjoyed it. I hope it gets better next year. And I hope it has a name next year…

PS- I envy all my friends who have great college fests like Malhar, Umang, Visions and Utsav…!!!

Malignant...

Heya people…! Here’s a short story written by me. I hope you all will like it. Please do comment and give your reactions!!! Happy reading….!!! : )

Reena Malhotra was in a state of despondency when she left her doctor’s clinic. Dr. Agrawal told her that she had brain tumor. It was on the last stage. It was too late now. She didn’t know what to do…?

Reena was 26, smart, good looking and very sincere in her work. She had shifted from Delhi 5 years ago from her aunt’s place. Her parents had passed away when she was 14 years old. Since then her aunt took care of her. But she had already decided that she wanted to do something really big in her life. So she finally shifted to Mumbai when she was 21. Now, Reena was working in a call centre at the designation of Chief Office Manager. She got a good salary with which she was happy. She now had all she had ever dreamt of…

But until this day, when she got the news of her tumor…which was Malignant…She immediately went to her house and called up her best friend Serena Thompson. Serena and Reena were friends since 5 years. They worked together in the call centre. “Hello, Serena?” Reena said, filled with melancholy. “Hello, Reena. Why are you sounding so low? Is everything okay?” she asked getting apprehensive. “I’ve got to tell you something but not on the phone. It’s really important. Meet me at Costa Coffee in 15 minutes. Meet you there. Bye!” She kept the phone. She went to the bathroom, washed her face and looked at her reflection in the mirror. She thought that this face will now die…..

Serena was already sitting in the coffee parlour at their usual table. Reena came and sat opposite her. “Hi Reena! I’ve already ordered your favourite coffee. CafĂ© Mocchiato….!” Serena said stressing on the word coffee. Serena knew that Reena just simply loved coffee. “Thanks sweetheart!” Reena said. After two minutes the waiter arrived with the coffee. He placed it on the table and gave the ladies a pleasant warm smile. Without wasting much of time Reena came to point. She knew that it was going to be excruciatingly difficult for her to tell it. She said “Serena… How would you feel if I told you that I am going to die?” “Do I have to answer that hypothetical question? You’ve called me for this...for answering your stupid questions?” Serena shot back. Reena’s eyes were now moist. Tears started rolling down her cheeks. Serena now realized that something was terribly wrong. “What’s the matter?” Serena said. Now she started getting nervous. “I am going to die! I have brain tumor on last stage. Nothing can be done now. The doctor told there’s no hope. I’ve just got two months to live.” Reena said. The words just came out of her mouth. These words of Reena were still echoing in Serena’s mind.

The atmosphere had now become silent and tense. Serena couldn’t believe it. The reality was way too distressing. “So what are you going to do now?” Serena said with tears welling up in her eyes. “Die!” Reena said, feeling defeated. Reena never thought that her life would come to an end so soon. She had many plans for her future. She wanted to travel the world, publish her own novel and marry. But furthermore she wanted to LIVE. Now she had no option. She had to die. That was her fate and nothing could be done now. She accepted the bitter fact of death. “I want to travel the world. Would you like to come along with me?” Reena said soaking her tears with the handkerchief. “Obviously you fool! I’m totally in.” Serena said.

So finally Reena and Serena went on a world tour. They went to USA, France and Italy. Reena’s one wish was fulfilled. She saw the world which she always wanted to do. “Now I can die!” Reena thought .Serena spent time with her friend. She made each day of Reena a memorable one. They came back to Mumbai after a month. Every day Reena and Serena would go out for a dinner, watch a movie, watch a play or else spend time with each other. Those were the best days of their life.

After they had dinner in Olive which was Reena’s favorite restaurant, Reena said “Thanks a lot Serena for making my last few days so wonderful. I feel privileged to have a friend like you. You don’t know how good I’m feeling. Thanks a million!” “You don’t have to be so formal. Anytime time for you my best friend!” They left the restaurant and headed for their houses. Reena reached her house. It was a quite cool night. She changed into her nightdress and lay on the bed. Reena thought of her favorite song “One Last Breath” by the band CREED.

“Please come now I think I’m falling

I’m holding on to all I think is safe

It seems I found the road to nowhere

And I’m trying to escape

I yelled back when I heard thunder

But I’m down to one last breath

And with it let me say

Let me say

Hold me now

I’m six feet from the edge and I’m thinking

That maybe six feet

Ain’t so far down”

She knew that the moment had arrived. She thought of all her sweet memories. She tried to remember the faces of her parents. She thought of the time she spent with them. She recollected the time spent with her best friend Serena and the fun she had with her. She finally thanked God. She closed her eyes and she was lost in the darkness forever…..

All I Ever Wanted.....

Heya people…have you all ever wondered how great it would be if you got whatever you’ve desired for…!?!!? I know…that would be really great…There are many things that I wish they’d come into veracity…and I just hope it happens one day….

All I ever wanted is a TERROR FREE world…no butchery of innocent people…terror for me not only means the terrorist attacks but also the fights and riots on the name of religion…!!! I mean God doesn’t tell us that you are a hindu/muslim/jain or whatever religion it is…and according to me fighting on it is really insignificant… So people lets live together as a family!!!

All I ever wanted is to become a prominent Author/Novelist…Its my most cherished desire…and I hope that I do become one someday…….(I guess I don’t write that bad…do I ?)

All I ever wanted is to meet Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam (okay…this man needs no introduction…) and Rajdeep Sardesai (Editor-in-Chief/Owner of CNN-IBN)…these both men inspire me in a thousand ways(infact more than that)…I would be thoroughly privileged to meet these two people…!

All I ever wanted is that people should stop being hypocritical and ostentatious and pretentious…why do some people behave in such weird fashion I fail to understand…I just want people to be themselves, frank, straight forward and they should open up their minds to all possible vistas…( I’m not talking about Windows Vista…lolz…)

All I ever wanted is to stop Global Warming…I know that’s kind of impossible…but we can do our little bit…so lets undertake an initiative to save OUR PLANET…( C’mon people it’s the only planet with coffee, chocolates and panipuri…yum….!!!)

All I ever wanted is that there should be at least three holidays in a week…that would be really awesome and fun…so much of free time for ourselves and to enjoy….whoa….!!

All I ever wanted is to make India a super power…guys its high time that we should stop criticizing our country… We are developing as a country in all aspects be it in the economic sector, arts, sports, etc…There are many negative forces which try to divide us on the basis of religion and regionalism…lets just ignore them…..Its our responsibility as the future citizens to contribute to our country in whatever ways we opt…and yeah we shouldn’t forget our culture and traditions.....(okay…though I listen to English music that doesn’t mean that I don’t care about our culture…its my personal choice…this one was for one idiotic guy who is in my college and only insists on listening to marathi and hindi music…dude…get a life and go hell with it!!!)

All I ever wanted is to meet Jennifer Aniston…and the entire cast of F.R.I.E.N.D.S…..I just love them…!!!

All I ever wanted is to live a free life…no worries about anything…taking my own decisions….doing whatever I feel like….discovering my inner self….but damn…that’s one hell of a thing that I can’t get…!!!

The list goes on and on…..but these are the things I really want them to happen…I just hope it comes true one day…till then I’ll be waiting…so that was ALL I EVER WANTED…..!!!

Things I NORMALLY do in the night...

Heya people…!!! Quite a long time after my earlier post…finally holidays are back (diwali Vacations) yay!!!! hmmmm…..so what people usually do during night…!?!? I know what a dumb question…!!! And the obvious answer is… they “SLEEP”….well not in the case of me…!!! I’m quite a nocturnal animal….!! So….these are the things I usually do when I’m awake in the night…! Now….that I suffer from self-proclaimed insomnia….let me tell you guys what are my encounters during the night time…!!!

So….. I usually watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S in the night…….its my favorite sitcom ever….

And how can I forget my companion….BLACK COFFEE…!!! Just cant live without it…. This is my primary need for night time……Hmmmm…….. if there is any good movie coming on TV….then its great…(half of the time these stupid telebrands commercials keep on coming on tv…..but I must say…they are really hilarious…..english dubbed hindi commercials!!!) Or else I read a novel…..reading novels in the wee hours is my favorite pastime……I get completely into it…!!!

Thanks to the advent of modern technology……I go online when I’m awake during the night……I check out the profiles of the “PUNYA” people and burst out laughing…!!! Sheer entertainment I must say….!!! Listening to music is another activity of mine that I usually do in the night……or else I’ll be talking to Shreya or Rahul for hours together on the phone……

(okay….even shreya and rahul are insomniacs…..because every time these both are the only ones whom I talk to in the night regarding various things…)

MAGGI…….how can I forget that…….I love eating maggi in the night….wow….. I know I have got weird eating and sleeping habits….!!! But can’t help it……..and finally….if I’m getting bored…I go for a bath….!!! Then I think about my great days I spent with my friends and then……I eventually go off to sleep……

P.S- my normal sleeping time is12......and when there all holidays I sleep by 3 or 4…. So people these were the adventures of an insomniac….this is a caffeine addict/insomniac signing off…. Adios…..!

The Casanovas……what to say about them…..supposed to be the popular group of my school…..they completely lack manners……very low intellectual level…..these group of bozos over estimate their selves and think they are very cool…….so cheap….these guys sense of humor is also cheap like them……the guys are so desperate……they can actually write a book on how to become cheap and vulgar.....but…..oh I forgot….how can these morons write……after all they are so dumb so reading and writing is out of question for them…..! there’s only one advice I can give them…..guys stop pretending to be cool…..because you’ll don’t know to act and so finally you’ll end up being more stupid and dumb……!

Venus…….aowaha……..can you believe it that this guy has actually waxed……..! I mean how pathetic is that……what to say more about him……thinks that he is cool and looks handsome…..but let me tell you one thing…..you look like a piece of poop…..! The Hep Babe Crowd.....!

Hello honeykins……….ready for some stiring…….! So, my this blog is entirely dedicated to “THE HEP BABE CROWD” of my school….I’ve changed their names so as not to reveal their identity……!

So let me explain what hep babe crowd is exactly……This crowd includes all the DUDES (pronounced as Doodhs) and all the BABES (pronounced asBaa-be)….these people are all wannabes dying to seek attention by their stupid attention seeking stunts…….they think whatever they do is cool and in vogue…..But actually its entirely the opposite……They don’t know that people actually laugh at them…..for example me and many others……..My only advice to them is to stop acting like a bunch of bloody morons and dumb asses and do something in life other than their poor attempts to seek attention……..!
Okay the very first person on the hit list is ZEUS…….This guy is really gross and the ultimate cheapest person I’ve ever seen……this guy is so vulgar….....The thinks that the jokes he cracks are really cool…… He is so cool that when you are around him you will feel cold…....(lol)…..he is really dumb…….The ultimate cheapster…..no one can beat him in his vulgarity and this poor sense of style……….!
Next on the list is APOLLO………also regarded as playboy of my school…actually………n the worst part is girls actually do fall for him……..so its obvious that those girls belong to the same crowd……..! I guess he thinks that he can pataaofy every girl………..but sweetie you shouldn’t be that over confident……..cause its said that every dog has its day…….its just your days……..which finally are gonna end……….He is completely a moron……..forget no point wasting my precious words for such a person………..!
Baa-be…….what to say about her……….! She carries a pink lip gloss to school…….and does make up in school……..she doesn’t play……cause then she’ll sweat and spoil her make up……..height of dumbness……..I must say……………
LB1 & LB2 (Love Bird)………..gawd…….! living in their own parallel universe in which everything is lovey dovey for them……..This couple display their affection openly in public……..I mean that’s so stupid and cheap………always they are completely over each other…….talking about love………god…….! That makes me puke……….actually……….!
The gong gongs………….AOWAHA………! what to say about them……..they think that they are a musical sensation of the school…….and the main person of their group…….such a terrible guy……loves vulgarity ……..overflowing with immense cheapness……..The whole group sings so pathetically…….and they think that they’ve got lot of knowledge of music……..guys stop boasting about yourselves and go and take some deep breathes…….and just forget about music……..because its not a cup of your tea………!

Okay…so these were a few characters who lead the brigade of the hep babe crowd……….there are many more…….I hope these bunch of idiots learn to change their behavior and become civilized……..but how can we expect this from them………..after all they are “HEP BABE”……!

The Chronicle Of Life

Heya people…..the following is a short story written by me……I just wrote whatever came to my mind…..I hope you all will like it…..

Sohrab Zorabian was sitting in his drawing room reading the newspaper. Though he had the newspaper in his had, he was not actually reading it. His mind had wandered somewhere else. Mr. Zorabian thought of that terrible incident in which he lost his 15 year old son Rostam. Whenever he sat alone he always drifted away with that horrid memory. Though 10 years had past since he lost his son, he never was able to accept the fact that his son was no longer with him. Just then Mrs. Zorabian voice came, “ Sohrab, the dinner is ready!”. With the voice of his wife, he came back to reality.
When he arrived at dinning table, Mrs. Zorabian came to know that her husband had been thinking about the same thing again and again. She said, “Are you ok. You don’t seem to be in good health!”. Mr.Zorabian complained that he had a headache. There was no further conversation. Soon after the dinner was over he went to sleep.
Mrs. Zorabian was fed up of her husband’s behaviour. Even she had gone through the same thing. But she finally decided to move on in life because she knew that thinking about it over and over again would add to her distress. But that was not the case with her husband. He always kept blaming himself for that car accident.
The following night Mr.Zorabian got a dream. His son appeared in his dream. He said, “Baba, don’t keep blaming yourself. That was written in my destiny so it had to happen. But Baba, don’t waste your life thinking about the same thing and move on. Life is to be enjoyed and to live without sorrow. It’s a gift which we need to explore. I love you Baba.”
When Mr. Zorabian got up the next morning he felt as a transformed person. Everything seemed to be very different to him from now on. And he finally began to live his life. Actually he began to relive his life. He lived it with happiness for him. His son…Rostam….

The Sangla Valley Trek...

School trips are always fun and worth a chance…My trek to the sangla valley was one of its kind……

Our trip was scheduled on 3rd May, 2009…..we were asked to  report in the school at 8 am…..We had a small prayer service and then we left for panvel railway station to board our train…….All the parents were waving to their children as if they were going for some ten years…..! Our train (Kochuvelli-Chandigarh- Sampark Kranti Express) was supposed to arrive at 11:35 am………but as we all know the irregularity in the timings of our trains………our train arrived at 12…….! Then we boarded our trains and sat in the compartments which were allotted to us. I was fortunate enough that I got a compartment with my classmates (Rahul, Suraj, Atharva, Mihir, Saurabh)………..

The train travel was boring and fun too……I know what antithesis cal statement…………! The train food was awfully bad…….! I had a lot fun in the train with greeshma, shreya, sana, ruchita……etc………..I and ruchita had completely gone crazy…..we were laughing for any stupid thing……..! Then we finally reached Chandigarh…….we were taken  to some place……….a-mini-seashore-look-alike-place……..the only difference was that it was more huge, clean……..there was even a mechanical bull there………we roamed there for about one hour…..clicked pictures…….and then we left for Hotel Classic Residency.

We had our dinner there and left immediately for sarahan……a village in Himachal Pradesh…….We traveled by bus overnight and reached sarahan the next day in the morning at 9am…….In sarahan we checked into hotel The Srikhand….(I know the name is funny……) which was himachal Pradesh tourism’s hotel…..We tenth std. boys were given horrible dormitories to stay in…..The worst part was that the bathroom and the toilet was hideously yuck……….! Then the next day we went to a small mountain for trekking….we also went to a shrine of goddess Bhimakali……The temple was so beautiful………the carvings, the architecture was so magnificent…..

The next day we left for Chaura…….a village which was 17kms away from sarahan…….And we went there by walking……The trek to chaura was amazing…..on our way we came across my waterfalls…….We got a casualty too…..shrushti vora….some girl from 7th std. got a ligament tear……so she was carried by suri sir, kush, rahul, fr.russel………..I really pity rahul as he had to carry a her ( not to forget…….shrushti’s weight was about 70-80kgs…….though she told us that her weight was 54kgs…..!) Dhwani, Ruchita, Shivani and I got so frustrated with that  shrushti…so we made a plot to push her of the cliff….but that was not possible…...So finally we reached chaura……we were supposed to stay in chaura…..but due to some elections thing we had to move to sangla valley immediately……..We went to sangla by bus and reached at 10:30pm……..and yeah it was our base camp………We stayed in the tents there……..rahul had got a tent which had a bathroom and toilet in it……whoa…..! and my tent was a regular tent….:( But my tent was the hot happening one cause we used to have a lot of fun……..so finally rahul sifted to my tent……:) ☺☺☺…… But suraj really irritated me to the core……....the food there was okay….except for the noodles which were inedible but still we were forced to eat……….! I also went to greeshma’s tent……..with rahul and atharva……I had a lot of fun there listening to ghost stories, playing cards, laughing on silliest things……and I also learnt a new dance……Bob The Builder dance………which was a creation of greeshma, sana……etc……and all other people of their group………..

Then we went to chhitkul….the last village on the Indian side……coz after that was Tibet……the trek was pretty exhausting……we almost went to the altitude of about 8000 feet…….! There we played in the snow…..and to add to it….it started snowing………

We again went to a small trek of 12kms in a day or two……….The whole camping experience was beyond my expectations……….! Then we left for chandigarh again and checked into Hotel Classic Residency……The room we got this time was awesome……we had got a TV too…..we didn’t sleep the whole night…..n yeah the whole trip I was irritating rahul…..actually teasing not irritating……..

We boarded our train to panvel on 13th May…..and reached vashi on 14th May at 2pm……We had a small prayer service……and then we were asked to go home……Actually no one wanted to go home as we would miss everyone……..

My this trip was really wonderful……..it is said that “Someimes life is all about the journey and not the destination”……….and now I find it true coz…..I met many new people…..made new friends with whom I made special bonds which I’ll remember for my lifetime………! Its not the destination which matters but the people you come across in the journey and the experience which you get by interacting and coming close to  them. I’d like to thank all my friends both old and new……for being by my side during my experience for a lifetime………!!!
